All Mebane Trails
MEBANE CITY TRAILS
These urban trails vary in length from 1 mile to just over 4 miles and take walkers through various parts of Mebane on well-marked, well-maintained city streets and sidewalks.
The first trail head is located at City Hall on the corner of Washington Street and Fifth Street at the Bell Garden. The second trail head is located at the Mebane Arts and Community Center (MACC) 633 Corregidor Road, Mebane. The trails are:
MOUNTAINS-TO-SEA TRAIL
The Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) spans 1175 miles across the beautiful state of North Carolina. The western terminus is located at Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains and the eastern terminus at Jockey’s Ridge at the Outer Banks. Along the trail, you will see mountain vistas, rolling Piedmont farms, weathered tobacco barns, coastal swamps, pine forests, lighthouses and sand dunes all connected by large cities and quaint communities like Mebane. What makes the MST so unique is that it can be hiked, biked and paddled. Over 200 miles awaits the adventurous paddler along the Neuse River. The entire trail map can be found here.
Segment 9 is known as the Revolution and Textiles segment. Starting in Greensboro at Bryan Park and traveling 60 miles to the Eno River State Park in Durham. Segment 9 is home to two trail communities, Hillsborough and Mebane.
CATES FARM PARK TRAILS
Location: 1169 N. First Street
Hours of Operation: Dawn to Dusk
Trail Usage: Walk, Hike, Run, *NO bikes and NO motorized vehicles allowed including dirt bikes, go-carts
Cates Farm Park has two trails, Wildflower Loop and Forest Loop. Wildflower Loop is .05 miles and Forest Loop is 1.5 miles with mile markers every .25 miles.
LAKE MICHAEL TRAILS
Location: 7300 Lebanon Road
Hours of Operation: 8am – 9pm
Lake Michael has three walking trails:
- Yellow: JJ Knox Trail (.75 mile)
- Blue: Mason Hall Trail (1.05 miles, one way)
- Red: Nature Trail (1.25 miles, one way) – bikes allowed on Red trail only
